Ministries... Baptist Men's Ministry // Baptist Women // WOM // Youth on Mission // Discipleship Ministry
The Neuse Baptist Association works with 45 Southern Baptist Churches in Wayne, Lenior and Greene Counties and extending to one chuch in Duplin County. Our purpose is to help our family of churches in their ministries in any way possible. We provide counseling, training, workshops, outreach opportunities, fellowship, etc. through our over 100 ministries. Our goal is to have and get men involved in the ministry that Jesus challenged us to do when He told us to "Go into All the World...Kinston, Lenoir County and the rest of the World." (Paraphrase of Acts 1:8) We do this by having regular monthly "Worship Rally" meetings on the 4th Saturday morning of each month. Rather than our meeting being a time pro primarily reporting and planning, we desire to see it as a time for inspiration and growth. With our full schedules there is not time to have "just another planning meeting!" This is why we try to keep it relevant and also to reach men that have dropped out of fellowship, or who have never been involved before. We try to have spiritual dimension to out meeting, with a short time of announcements, and reporting on what has been done well and the projects that are planned. We further, have a time for singing - teaching - discussion and most of all prayer. There are Nine essentials to our Men's Ministry called Neuse BMEN. These essentials are: Baptist Women is a chuch ministry for adults focusing on the needs of communities, supporting, GA's, and praying for missionaries. We are responsible for Annie Armstrong and Lottie Moon mission offerings yearly. The Homecoming/Fellowship ministry is a group of 12 women who are responsibe for providing the meals for the events within the church such as our Quarterly Business Meeting, our Monthly Baptism meal, and our Homecoming meal which is held every May, the first Sunday. We also provide or help with any special services as requested. Mission Friends is a Church missions organization for preschoolers ages 2-5 years old. Children learn about the mission field and spiritual teaching is reinforced through the Bible, coloring, videos, songs, and play time. Music is a vital part of a worship service. At Neuse Baptist, we are blessed to have our Music Ministry handled by a Music Director, Carla Kincaid for just over ten years, and a team of volunteers. We have an adult choir, a praise team, hand chime group, and several volunteer musicians. Our adult choir presents a special just about every Sunday. This grouping is usually high school age and above. They practice on Sunday evenings at 5:30 just before the evening service. This assembly offers a musical production about twice a year. They have performed their cantata for Christmas or Easter in as much as a half dozen different places in a given season. The praise team is rather new for our congregation. It originally started as a group of children and youth, but we were fortunate enough to have the mothers join in. Now we have grown to call ourselves a praise team. When this team sings on a Sunday morning, the adult choir gets a much needed break. Our music ministry and services would not be complete without musicians. We are blessed to have several ladies to alternate playing the piano and organ. And, in our modern era, we have some recorded music. We are again blessed though; this recorded music does not play itself. Our congregation has quite a few dedicated individuals that work behind the scenes in the audio visual room during most every service. Discipleship training is one of the five purposes that our church uses to fulfill our mission of “TO KNOW HIM AND MAKE HIM KNOWN”. 2 Timothy 2:15 instructs us to “study to shew thyself approved unto God a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth”. The Discipleship Ministry at Neuse provides a number opportunities for study and training; Sunday School, Sunday night and Wednesday night sessions, winter bible study, Bible school, new member classes and studies led by our Baptist Men and Baptist Women at their monthly meetings. There are also trainings provided for our younger members through RA’S and GA’S and for our older youth programs led by our Children and Youth minister. You are invited and encouraged to attend any of these programs that are appropriate for you as we all grow and mature toward Godly perfection A ministry to visit the sick and shut-ins and offer fellowship and prayer in time of need. The purpose of this ministry is to introduce new members, by way of a handbook, to Neuse Baptist Church and its doctrine and ministries. Student Ministries... Neuse Student Ministries is all about raising up the next generation and help them to learn to use their talents and abilities to impact their world. All students grade 7-12 are invited to attend one of our fast paced interactive services. While we use modern technology and multi-media, our goal is to create an experience where students can begin and grow in their relationship with Jesus. Our weekly YOUTH ON MISSION service takes place on Wednesday evenings from 7:00 pm till 8:15 pm. Come early for food, fellowship and fun!! Youth on Mission is an organization for young men and women. Youth on Mission equips youth to be dynamic, relevant, caring witnesses of Christ to a lost and needy world. Through YOUTH ON MISSION we perform service related projects in our community. UNDER CONSTRUCTION YOUTH on Sunday evenings from 7:00 till 8:15 pm. Come early for food, fellowship and fun. This service includes praise and worship, video and Bible teaching. TEAMKID is grades preschool thru fifth grade.TEAMKID emphasizes Bible Study, missions, prayer, scripture memory and games. TEAMKID helps kids grow spiritually, physically, socially, emotionally and mentally. Come join us on Sunday Nights at 7 pm. Visitors and volunteers are always welcome! Girls in Action (GAs) is a southern Baptist mission organization for girls in 1st grade through 6th grade. Our prayer is that the girls in our group will come to understand the need and have a desire to tell others about Jesus. Our GA pledge speaks to what we do...learn about missions, pray for missions, give to missions, do missions and participate in the work of the church. We have our own magazine, GA World, and each month we learn about missionaries who serve in different areas of the world as well as those who serve in the United States. We also learn about the customs of other countries, play games and sometimes even experience some of the food/recipes of those countries. We particularly enjoy doing "live mission projects" such as visiting shut ins, collecting items and delivering them to the local homeless shelter, making and delivering quarts of soup for those less fortunate, hosting a baby shower for the Eastern Pregnancy Information Clinic and many other projects. In addition we have sleepovers, tea parties, go to GA camp, earn badges and have found that we can have lots of fun while we learn to live a mission lifestyle that honors God. Meet: Wednesday nights from 7PM to 8PM BMEN also support and lead the Royal Ambassador program. The Purpose of the RA's is to involve boys in missions. This means living one's faith daily, personal experience in witness and ministry, and giving and praying to support persons involved in missions. The RA's help boys to become aware of the needs of people around the world and to respond to those needs. Children's Church is held Sunday mornings during the worship service for three year olds-first graders. In Children's Church we focus on Bible Study, prayer and scripture memory. We do this by using lessons with activites, crafts and games that are especially designed for children. Visitors, helpers and volunteers are welome anytime. |
